The second focus is the preparatory stage for the student. Once the Consultant is at this stage they understand the needs and desires of the students career path. Sometimes lack of high scores or requirements have not been evaluated properly the student will find themselves with less options. Entrance exams have become more difficult at these College and Universities due to more diverse applicants. Of course, exams are necessary however the reference process is as well. The consultant will help advise the student on necessary references and extracurricular activities that need to be added to their application in order to have a better chance of being admitted.

As a consultant, the satisfaction of knowing you have helped a teenager or an adult make the right decision on what college to attend is well rewarded. Some college admission consultants prefer to charge by the hour this can range from $75 to $100 per hour. However, one needs to have experience as a guidance counselor in a High School or Admissions Officer in a University, in order to be a successful College Admissions Consultants.
