An operations manager provides leadership and operational management skills for private companies government, educational, science, etc. They ensure excellent client service levels, with sales targets and efficient time lines. Duties of an Operations Manager

Their duties include but are not limited to things such as creating policies, managing operations daily, while planning the use of various products along with human resources. There is a fine balance of skill demonstrated in these tasks. However they are diverse and general to be classified in any specific area of management or administration. It is also true that many of these duties may overlap into other areas in a company from personnel, administrative services or the purchasing department. Some companies, the duties of General Operations Managers can overlap into duties of Chief Executive Officers.

The formal education and experience of General & Operations Managers varies widely as do their various responsibilities. Many have a bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration or liberal arts. Some managers in the public sector may even have a background in public administration. Others might have a background related to their jobs.

The salary range for an operational manager is $98000- $100000, respectively. The US Department of labor breaks the salary structure by state. Therefore these numbers will fluctuate. If additional skills are involved including travel, along with a history of leading a large project then salaries will represent these additional attributes.
