Every kind of advisor is called a consultant. They provide a client with Consultation Services. A consultant is responsible for advising the client and for providing new working ideas under a given condition. In other words, a consultant is an expert who charges a fee for providing advice or services in a specific field. Therefore in retrospect anyone with a higher than average knowledge in a specific field or discipline can become a Consultant. An expert in a particular field from, engineering, financial, medical, marketing, travel, legal, computers, management, personnel management etc.
The business aspect and agreement between the Consultant and client will be an independent contract drawn to provide consulting services. In today’s market including the wide reach of the Internet, consultants have been flooding the airwaves. The competition is fierce; the clients have become more selective and require a proven track record. The ability to promote and market previous projects the more competitive the consultant will become.
Different consultants have different types of duties. For example
- If you are an Educational Consultant then your duty is to present workshops to educators, government departments and corporate bodies to assist with thinking strategies for the classroom, staff meetings, and staff planning days, team teaching, and seminars.
- If you are an Accounting Consultant, then your main duty is to explain the correctness and consistency of a client’s final account. You must see the International Accounting standards Board’s published consultation paper on profit and loss account and balance sheet. Therefore, that final account can be adhered to under International accounting standard.
- If you are an Environmental Consultant then your main duty is to provide high ecological reports and quality surveys. Provide the full range of environmental services that include the Fauna and Flora Surveys, including land Management Planning, Environmental Reports, Expert witness for Land -Environment Court Threatened Species Assessments.
- A Human Resource Consultant provides human resources to small to mid-sized organizations. They help analysis and implement the HRIS systems, benefits programs analysis recommendations, Human Rights violations investigations including sexual harassment, employee coaching and development programs and much more.
