Aon Is Looking for a Senior Consultant, Actuarial & Analytics - Health Solutions Practice (Canada)As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Health Solutions business group within Aon.As a Senior Consultant in our Actuarial & Analytics team, you will be supporting client teams in the servicing of clients with respect to management of the financial risk of their benefit programs. Working with a team of analysts and senior team leaders you will be involved with a variety of client deliverables including but not limited to actuarial valuations, benefits costings, reserve calculations, simulation modeling, flex plan pricing and modeling, and other actuarial and analytics projects. Job Responsibilities: Production and revision of actuarial analyses supporting employee benefit plans, including setting and discussing assumptions with clients or client teamsParticipate in and lead various actuarial and analytics projectsProvide technical expertise, advanced analysis, insights and recommendations to client teams and analysts in respect to the work being completedSupport the broking team on various projects, such as:Analysis and negotiation of annual renewalsAnalysis and cost projections following carrier marketingsExperience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends, and client relevant KPIsPrepare and/or review of client ready materialAttend client meetings in support of the client teams as required or to present actuarial work resultsSupport ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleaguesCoordinate projects with analysts, consultants, other business units and carriers Increase efficiency by identifying ways to improve standardized processes and add value to client deliverablesBuild strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, client teams and carriersAct as a role model, ensuring adherence to internal tools, quality, technical, professional, and ethical standardsMaintain an up-to-date knowledge of the group benefits industry, systems, products, trends, and emerging technology, to support a thorough understanding of how this relates to increasing value to clients Effectively manage and coach direct reports and influence the engagement of the team through coaching and support.Structure employee management to address career development, regular feedback, 1:1 meetings, mid-year and annual performance review, etc. in line with the Aon Impact Model.Creates a learning environment that ensures all employees have the training and skills needed to meet the business' needs.Develops and maintains talent by recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing personal growth opportunities for colleagues.Lead and inspire others within the organization to seek and implement improvements and changes that continuously move Health Solutions toward achievement of its vision.Oversee the compliance of the unit’s employees as applicable.Partners with BU leaders to assess staffing levels and ensure that appropriate skill levels are in place.Actively participate in internal and external initiatives that will raise the organization and personal profile in the business community.Support the development of Aon IQ and Health Solutions acum You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience/Certifications:Demonstrated relevant actuarial experience in group benefits consulting or underwriting environment;A valid group insurance license – multi-jurisdictional is an asset;Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for complex client/business issues;Strong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies, and changes;Proven organization skills and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;Meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task;Demonstrated ability to lead projects and client team members;Experience and interest in people management is an assetExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
