Current Need: Technical Consultant - Healthcare IT



Position Description


To provide overall technical consulting, management and leadership in assigned projects and departmental business objectives while maintaining a high and consistent level of service delivery quality and customer satisfaction. The Sr. Technical Consultant works collaboratively with project manager, account manager, business analyst, clinical consultant and other key team resources to ensure a successful implementation outcome.

Demonstrate flexibility to effectively respond to changing project and client needs while balancing multiple on-going simultaneous projects. Monitors project responsibilities and ensure timely task completion. Prepare issue analysis, status updates, and special reporting to leadership members both within McKesson and client on an as needed basis. Provide focal point technical project contact for internal and external communications and escalation of project issues. Maintain a high level of communication with all levels of client interaction to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution.



This position is located in our Newton, MA office.



Key Responsibilities



1.



* Presales and Post-sales technical discussions with different levels of stakeholders

* Assist with assessing project scope and resources required

* Designing customized interface and integration solutions

* Handling client escalations related to critical problems

* Decision-making, resolving conflicts, and prioritizing projects

* Developing and delivering presentations related to the business

* Maintaining/expanding technical proficiency of self and peers via various training media

* Escalate issues as appropriate

* Other duties as needed 25%



2.



* Act as escalation point for support

* Clear Coverage stored procedures development and data mapping activities

* Clear Coverage Data Loader development

* Clear Coverage integrations (Facets, Care Management Systems, web portals/SSO)

* Consulting with both external and internal clients on interface requirements

* Work with cross-functional teams when configuring Clear Coverage into an environment with multiple MHS and non-MHS products 75%













Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements

6 years of specific knowledge-based, content or product applications engineering experience



Critical Skills



* 4 years of business and technical experience working in the health care industry (Payer or Provider).

* 4 years experience with a DBMS environment (SQL, DB Stored Procedures/Triggers)

* 4 years experience with a programming language ( Unix/Linux Scripts, Javascript, VB, .Net, Java, Web Services)

* 4 years in a customer facing role

Education
BS degree or equivalent experience. May require professional certification in applicable healthcare expertise.
