Senior BI Consultant
As a Senior BI Consultant, you will be an expert in business intelligence and act as a senior member of the BI team by mentoring and motivating members of the team whilst managing your own individual contributions. You will work closely with our customers, gathering requirements and translating into technical / functional designs for the development team. You will work with pre-sales throughout demonstrations, co-ordinate and distribute work throughout the team and lead the project through to delivery. Working with multiple product lines, this will be a varied and rewarding position. As a BI consultant, you must have strong skills in SQL, Excel, Anysis Services, Reporting, DAX / MDX, and Power Query. This would suit a technically minded, customer facing BI consultant with strong leadership and inter-personal abilities. This role will include regular travel, mainly domestic and potentially international.
Role and Responsibilities
· You will work as a BI Consultant – A member of the wider BI team collaborating across an international multidisciplinary setting
· Exposure of working across varied projects that aim to improve the business processes of our customer through our own Food Management Dashboard solution (a BI solution specifically for the food industry, based on our ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics and the self-developed industry-specific solutions)
· Ability to analyze management confidential information and translate this into a suitable BI solution. Operating and interface with functional interpretation and technical development
· You will guide the customer in the implementation of the BI solution and after the implementation you optimize the solution. You are also partly responsible for a permanently suitable solution for the customer
· Contribute to the standard product development of the BI solution
· You will have the ability to work independently develop functional designs for customer-specific adjustments and supervise their development and implementation
· Ensure collaboration with your colleague Consultants, Project Managers, Developers and Support Employees to serve the customer’s requirements to the best of your ability
· Regularly work on location with our customers in the Netherlands and occasional elements of travel abroad will be required
Requirements
· A completed HBO or WO study with a business administration or logistics background
· You have knowledge of ERP applications: Microsoft Dynamics NAV or AX. Or other ERP systems such as SAP, UNIT4, Exact. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and / or AX is an advantage
· Microsoft Excel is your best friend
· You have a feel for data structure (Knowledge of SQL Server is an absolute plus);
· Knowledge of PowerBI / QlikView / Tableau and / or Microsoft Analysis Services is an advantage;
· You are familiar with modeling data in a star scheme
· You think in terms of item structure and you have an affinity with the financial side and management information of business operations
· You have up to 3-5 years of work experience as a Consultant
· You have strong communication and analytical skills and you are decisive in commercial activities
· You have problem-solving skills
· You are proactive: self-starting, self-managing and entrepreneurial
· You are a real team player
