Associate Partner - DC Investment Consultant (UK Wide) Aon is currently recruiting an Associate Partner - DC Investment Consultant to join our growing team in the UK. You will be primarily responsible for contributing to Aon’s relationship with clients through day-to-day management, development, and retention of a portfolio of clients. The UK pensions landscape is evolving at a rapid pace. Economic challenges, legislative change, an ageing population, and asset volatility pose a wide variety of risks and challenges to pension schemes. Trustees and scheme sponsors are faced with a range of decisions on difficult topics from leading risk to improving member engagement, setting an investment strategy to running DC plans. Aon Retirement Solutions’ market-leading capabilities and award-winning expertise make us the perfect partner to help clients through their pension challenges. The primary aim of SM&CR is to drive individual accountability for all roles within the Financial Services Sector. Aon must ensure those in senior roles, with the potential to cause significant harm to customers and the business of the firm, are deemed to be fit and proper at all times and also to ensure everyone working in the sector adheres to a set of Conduct Rules and are held to account where they do not meet the right standards of behaviour. As an Associate Partner - DC Investment Consultanting your key responsibilities will involve:Understanding and focus on good member outcomes and working with clients to achieve this goalUsing your strong technical investment knowledge and experience to proactively build the investment expertise within the team, through training and mentoring of more junior colleagues as necessaryLeading relationships with clients (large to mid-market), with accountability for developing those relationships, for example through introducing additional servicesDirecting large client projects (e.g. investment strategy reviews and asset transitions)Overall responsibility for quality of technical work delivered to clientsStrong participation in meetings externally and internally (showing role model behaviours)Contribute to the thought leadership and future strategy of the business (e.g. leading a specialist team or driving new propositions)Strong focus on growth and securing new business, experience of prospecting for new business and leading client pitchesThe DC team is represented in several offices around the UK, and it is expected that your role would involve working with teams and advising clients across all of them.You bring knowledge and expertise:Track record in leading client relationshipsExperience in winning new business and strong focus on growing the client base and revenueSelf-motivating and ambitious.FCA approved status.Able to encourage and develop other colleagues, and work well within diverse teams.A willingness to learn and understand DC pension vehicles, applicable regulatory and legislative rules, main asset classes and investment theory.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and comfortable advising key client collaborators at a strategic levelConsistently acts with the highest integrity and professional standards.Experience advising clients on some or all:DC investment strategyDC products and investment platformsAsset transitionsFund manager recommendationsOngoing monitoringDC scheme investment governanceCompliance with regulatory requirements and changes in legislationThe range of skills required are quite diverse, and we will consider candidates that are stronger in specific areas although the individual needs a sound understanding of investment issues.Our Colleague ExperienceEvery day, our colleagues make a difference, work with the best, own their potential, and value one another.
