What’s the role?

The role is a Country HR Consultant within the US HR Organization. You will generally be accountable for projects and Employee Relations/Industrial Relations activities supporting business units in the US. Support for cross-business activities may be assigned as needs and priorities shift across the larger team. These lines of business employ staff in office and field locations across the United States in a wide array of occupational categories.

You will be part of an ‘agile hub’ as such dimensions may not be fixed. Business needs, experience level, and professional development needs will drive where HR Consultants are deployed. Based on assignment needs, periodic travel may be required. This role is an Individual Contributor, however, will be expected to support development of more junior HR professionals.

Role purpose is:


Define, design and lead implementation of country-specific projects and interventions to deliver the country business agenda.
Define, design and lead projects and interventions that enable delivery of the global Business People Agenda.
Coordinate and/or execute change initiatives and interventions to drive organizational capability.
Proactively deliver the local Employee Relations and Industrial Relations agenda, including employee engagement, D&I, complex case management, and compliance with local regulatory requirements.


Main Accountabilities are:


You will collaborate with Country HR colleagues, HR Business Partners, and/or Business Leaders across Businesses and/or Functions including Joint Ventures and Non-Integrated Companies.
You will design, develop and/or implement specific interventions, solutions or programmes in support of the People Agenda for the country.
You will define and contract the blend of HR (or other functional) resources locally required to deliver the intervention and contract with resources to deliver business-critical requirements.
You will manage and co-ordinate delivery of defined interventions – leading cross-functional, cross-country and virtual team members where needed.
You will manage cost-effective and timely local delivery of critical business change initiatives such as:
Country-specific organizational redesign and implementation including liaison with Country ER/IR and HR Shared Services.
Implementation of country-specific D&I initiatives.
Make proactive interventions aimed at improving quality of leadership and employee engagement.
You will manage impact and risk associated with individual or collective complaints or other ER or D&I issues.
You will lead HR investigations, Global Hotline complaints, and coordinate the response to other queries including EEOC charges/ litigations / arbitrations / mediation requests / etc.

Requirements:

What we need from you


Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources required. MBA/Masters preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Human Resources.
Proven knowledge of country-specific ER/IR legislation, regulations, directives, practices and processes.
Commercial / business acumen and ability to rapidly acquire understanding of the specific business, function context.
Effective consulting skills: diagnosis, inquiry, contracting and facilitation – to accurately scope the required work, assess resources required, contract the right team and facilitate defined interventions.
Experience business partnering with employees and leaders.
Project management skills– familiar with and able to selectively deploy a range of project management tools and methodologies.
Experience supporting change management.
Effective use of data and trend analysis to determine root cause and to define and track relevant business outcomes.
Strong communication – written and oral.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills and judgement/reasoning as it relates to employee relations matters.
Ability to build credibility through professionalism in approach and work product.
Strong diagnostic and evaluation skills – able to distill key themes and value drivers from complex and sometimes conflicting data and insights
