One of our clients has an exciting contract opportunity for a well-qualified individual to implement Altiris 7.1. The Altiris Implementation Consultant will be located in Raleigh, NC. The candidate selected for this position must be a US Citizen.
Job Descriptions:
The candidate will provide planning, technical expertise, and direction regarding the Altiris IT Management Suite 7.1 implementation and will serve as the high-level technical expert in regards to any associated issues. Potential candidates must be able to demonstrate their technical proficiency using the Altiris Client and Asset Management Suites 7.1 in an enterprise environment and must have a solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals and should be able to troubleshoot all aspects of the Altiris infrastructure. Any experience with Altiris 7.1 (ITMS 7.1), especially with upgrading from Altiris 6.x/7.0 to Altiris 7.1 is highly desired.
Essential Duties:
• Design, plan and implement modifications/upgrades to existing Altiris v7.1 environment
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution on escalated issues while monitoring and maintaining application environment stability.
• Configure the Service Catalog for the enterprise
• Implement solutions for software and baseline image deployment
• Manage and configure Client Management Suite (CMS) 7.1 including plug-ins and policies
• Use tasks and policies to deploy applications, endpoint operating systems, and personalities
• Configure the Software Portal to deliver applications
• Download, stage, and deploy software updates
• Create custom reports as requested by senior management or customer
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems
• Analyze and assess client/server architecture requirements and identify optimum, cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to identify and support technology advancements
• Work closely with other systems architects and project managers to develop, plan and implement system enhancements and upgrades
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams to identify, isolate, and resolve technical design issues and hardware/software malfunctions
• Produce clear and concise documentation capturing system configuration, design, and standard operating procedures, using MS Visio, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word Collaborate with client, server and other internal/external teams to identify support and technology advancements
Experience with the following:
• Microsoft Windows Server administration and maintenance
• Microsoft Windows Desktop administration
• Microsoft Active Directory administration and maintenance
• Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
• Experience troubleshooting application performance and latency issues
• Experience implementing and supporting enterprise system monitoring tools
• Proficiency with VBSscript, power shell, command scripts and batch files
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft MCSA or MCSE (Desired) Symantec SMP/NS/CMS 6.0, 7.0 or 7.1 Certifications (Desired) Altiris Certified Engineer (ACE) (Desired)
Top Must skill sets for consultant
• Implementation of Altiris 7.1 (must have at least one implementation of this version)
• 2-3 years with Altiris product suite (any version)
• Must have patch management/asset management in Altiris 7.1 – this would include any security with Altiris
• Multiple site management experience
• Extensive experience developing and implementing Altiris deployments in a large environment.
• Altiris Asset Management Suite 7.1
• Altiris Client Management Suite 7.1
