The Team

The Omnichannel Development, Controlling & Business Operations department formalizes the omnichannel strategy, drives the development of associated business processes & consumer services as well as leading their operational implementation. The department is also in charge of evaluating the business and financial performance of the omnichannel business.

Within the department, the Omnichannel Products Team drives the design, developments, improvements and maintenance of all omnichannel and retail products (from consumer & staff facing applications, to HQ solutions). The team identifies existing problems and painpoints, and scopes new initiatives to offer both an improved experience and an always more efficient operating model.

Partnering with the Tech Department, this team prioritizes the initiatives to be worked on and steers the multidisciplinary product development teams to ensure maximum value is delivered to the business. Working closely with the Expansion team, the Product team ensures new solutions and features are technically ready and business relevant to be operationally implemented and rolled out in the European markets.

The Products team drives complex and innovative initiatives and digital products, which sit across multiple departments and technologies. The team is composed of Product Managers, Product Owners and Product Specialists, leading business and technical team members whilst applying the agile way of working. The team environment is dynamic, open and value oriented.


 

The Role

As the Senior Product Specialist within the IMS (Inventory Management Systems) product pillar, your role is to support and collaborate with the Product Owner and Product Team on new proof of concepts, pilots, and other innovations. Part of your role is to support the Product Owner in product management, and identifying, designing, and building new innovations and improvements, Other areas of your role include providing strategic business analyses to stakeholders such as local retail markets, Tech department, Merchandising, Profit Protection, Finance and the Expansion team. The focus of this position is to work closely with product leadership and their stakeholders on key initiatives under IMS, which is at this moment mainly RFID implementation and scale-up, with the potential to look at new technologies in the future.

The Senior Product Specialist is responsible for reviewing business processes end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technical risks and opportunities, as well as supporting in creating business cases for new initiatives around inventory management solutions, such as RFID.  

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product team to improve product management, including defining, scoping, planning, design, development, rollout and support of the IMS solutions

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary scrum teams (incl. design, development, QA) and together drive the completion of backlog (projects, epics and stories)

  • Support in agile ceremonies (demo, planning, grooming, retro, etc.) together with the Product Owner and Scrum Master

  • Collaborate with the product team to identify the biggest opportunities for growth, identify key metrics of success and help in the prioritization of our product roadmap

  • Support the Product team to drive insights and actions from reports and to share the results with all relevant stakeholders (Expansion, Analytics, Tech department…)

  • Support in technical RFID proof of concepts by following up business objectives and KPI’s

  • Proactively propose actions and opportunities which are derived from POC results

  • Together with the Strategy and Analytics team, analyze financial investments vs. expected ROI, business KPIs and other performance data to ensure informed decisions to the management team can be delivered

  • Responsible for turning analyses into insights and recommendations, including presentations to support RFID initiatives and projects

  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Strategy, Analytics, Tech, Merchandising and other departments to assist or gather business requirements needed for enhancements and implementations

The ideal candidate

  • University degree

  • 4 to 6 years’ work experience in management consulting and/or Business Analyst in a Retail environment

  • Understanding of the retail inventory environment (business and technical)

  • Preferably prior direct or indirect experience with Supply Chain, RFID, and Retail

  • Strong analytical & problem solving capabilities, as well as highly structured and organized

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Open-mindedness for new technologies around the Inventory landscape and eagerness to drive innovations

  • Appetite for technology and process-oriented mindset

  • Excellent MS-Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Fluent written and spoken language skills in English and ability to work in multi-cultural & multi-lingual environment

  • Ambitious, motivated to go the extra mile and able to perform in a demanding work environment

  • High standard of ethics, integrity and confidentiality

  • SAP HANA knowledge preferred
