Position Summary:Risk Control involves the methodical identification, evaluation, and mitigation of various risk factors (fire, natural hazard, liability, etc.) to reduce an organization's potential to loss, and improve the overall cost of risk. Risk Control Consultants interact with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities and engineers on risk control matters and are responsible for: Distinctive Client ValueConducting facility risk control surveys for both operational and construction risksDeveloping client loss estimates (MFL) on site specific and portfolio basis to assist with insurance program designsConducting hazard identification and risk assessments at client sitesDeveloping and delivering hazard awarenessProviding consulting services to our clients to support the reduction of risk in their operationsIdentify opportunities for business development and participate in sales presentations to prospectsParticipate in consultancy assignments to support stakeholders at all stages of project lifecycleIdentify and evaluate potential project risks at all phases of a project lifecycle and propose technical solutionsOperational ExcellenceInsurance Marketing Support:Preparing insurance underwriting information reportsEvaluating and responding to insurance company recommendationsTalent EnvironmentEmbodies and sponsors Aon’s values and vision, business goals and objectives through a variety of effective communication techniques and structures.Fosters and motivates a collaborative team culture across groups, units and teams within the Risk Control Department. Qualifications and ExperienceA strong technical background is required – preferably an engineering degree or equivalent. Lesser or alternative academic qualifications may be acceptable in conjunction with relevant experience.5 -10 Years’ experience as an Engineer within the Energy Sector is preferred. Sound understanding in digitalization and data and analytic fundamentalsStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this position.The person appointed will be a team player who can also work independently.The ability to be incisive in analyzing technical problems and delivering cost effective solutions is a key skill requirement Other qualifications and experience that may be beneficial for this position include:Experience in using data and analytics to drive meaningful insight and value to clients. Familiarisation with visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau is advantageous.Versant with the emerging risks and technologies that will enable the energy transition, including but not limited to: wind, hydrogen, CCS, solar.Appreciation of ESG and LCA and how this translates to the energy sector.Knowledge of explosion modeling software such as PHAST is beneficial.Can develop and provide risk engineering consulting services to internal and external clients in the petrochemicals, oil and gas energy sector and encompassing ‘new energy’ technologies and risks.
