SUMMARY
Global Benefits and M&A Consultant is responsible for the management of global benefits, M&A due diligence, and post close integrations for global and US benefits plans. Also responsible for the management and administration of all Canadian benefits including retirement and health and welfare plans. Remote opportunity.
SALARY
$120K– $135K
RESPONSIBILITIES
Global Benefit Plans
Responsible for partnering with global broker and global actuary to manage global renewals and retirement plans.
Evaluate global benefits trends/costs and benchmarking and propose potential design changes.
Manage and administer all Canadian benefits.
Partner with global Compensation and Benefits local contacts to support global initiatives and consistency of programs.
Manage other global benefits related projects.
Collect, update, and maintain global benefits, perquisite and cost data.
Mergers & Acquisitions
Manage M&A due diligence initiatives from a benefits perspective for US and global plans.
Responsible for completing due diligence benefit plan comparisons including retirement, 401(k), health and welfare plans and performing benefits cost analysis.
Responsible for reviewing purchase agreements and highlighting any potential issues from a benefits perspective.
Responsible for managing benefit integrations post close for US benefit plans including but not limited to partnering with internal stakeholders and vendors to update plan administration, plan documents, summary plan descriptions and other administrative and compliance activities.
Compliance
Stay abreast of all upcoming global legislative changes and inform local Compensation and Benefits contacts of upcoming changes.
Manage all Canadian benefits compliance for retirement and health and welfare plans.
Assist with US compliance projects as needed.
Communications
Manage communications for global programs such as BTA, EAP or other global programs
Assist regional/local Compensation and Benefits staff with communicating new global programs
Manage all communications with HR and associates in relation to Canadian benefit plans
Recommend improvements in communications for a better associate experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience
8 years of Benefits experience
Mergers & Acquisitions experience
Must have strong working knowledge of US 401k plans and health and welfare plan designs
Must have excellent project management and vendor management skills
Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Must be able to explain complex benefits concepts in simplified terms
Must have the ability to prioritize workload and projects to meet tight deadlines
Ability to solve problems and be alert to inconsistencies in benefit information
Must have strong technical and analytical skills and able to summarize data
Critical thinker, problem solver and desire to learn and take on new projects
