The Director Software Engineering is responsible for technical and domain guidance for the development resources on a variety of teams across the organization. This role provides technical guidance, code governance and release coordination.
Essential Functions:
As part of a 60 developer team, mentor and direct 5-10 Software Engineers by leveraging building individual strengths, evaluating performance, providing real-time and actionable feedback and setting expectations to produce high performing teams.
Provide the technical direction and guidance across a variety of local and remote teams,
Provide troubleshooting expertise, pair programming, code reviews and best practices to advance individuals, and ensure product quality.
Coordinates with Product Management and Release Management to ensure major releases, updates and patches are delivered on time with high quality and minimal risk.
Partners with Product Management and Architecture to ensure teams understands product strategy.
Oversees and approves the code merges to ensure product integrity.
Identify, capture, analysis and improvement of KPIs, and leveraging these to improve quality and time to market
Provide solution estimates and contribute to capacity planning exercises as needed
Be an Agile process advocate and contribute to continual process improvements as a valued member of the software management team.
Be a software quality advocate and help ensure Code Analysis, Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Automation Testing and Load Testing processes are followed
Assist with recruiting and training of Engineering staff
Other tasks as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
10 years in a leadership role including experience leading a team, setting priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives
15 years of relevant software engineer/data engineering experience within diverse industries and leadership experience in product development. Mortgage or FinTech a plus.
10 years broad experience building, leading, managing and mentoring high-performance Agile-based engineering teams
6 years experience in .NET, C#, Angular (Javascript)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders
Experience defining and implementing unit testing, integration and automation frame works, instrumentation, cloud agnostic applications
Previous experience implementing relational DB solutions (SQL Server or similiar)
Experience delivering and supporting software in a SaaS, cloud based environment - Azure or AWS
Demonstrated experience in high transaction volume systems
Experience generating and reporting on software metrics for standards, instrumentation, telemetry, and quality
Experience implementing API based architecture
Docker, WSL or Kubernetes experience a plus
Must be able to operate independently with limited supervision
Must be able to advocate effectively for risk reductions and operational improvements
Willingness to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Ability to develop and manage service levels
As required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Accenture provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
