Currently work from home but in the future, this position will be based in our Miami officeu00a0when not in the field visiting PCPu2019s.nu00a0nNOTE: Mileage will beu00a0reimbursed.nu00a0nHow you will make an impact:nu00a0nThe Medical Records Audit & Training Consultant is responsible for evaluating and auditing PCP diagnosis codes and medical assessment forms to ensure compliance with federal Medicare guidelines and medical documentation requirements. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: nntntServes as final auditing arbiter regarding the Risk & Recoveryu2019s Retrospective Risk Adjustment (RA) Coding Team. ntntntIdentifies training opportunities for internal and external stakeholders related to federal guidelines, best practices, and medical record documentation requirements. ntntntCollects and analyzes data to formulate recommendations and solutions based on audit trends and results. ntntntActs as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders in the area of federal requirements and best practices. ntntntParticipates in and represents the department in business leadership groups, including external professional groups specializing in coding and provider education. ntntntAssists the business with research and documentation of workflows and policies and procedures. ntnnu00a0nQualifications Minimum Requirements:nu00a0nntntBA/BS in health sciences, health management, or nursing and minimum of 5 years of ICD-9 coding or medical record audit experience in a consultative role; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. ntntntCertified Professional Coder (CPC) from accredited source (e.g. American Health Information Management Association, American Academy of Professional Coders or Practice Management Institute) and CPMA (Medical Auditing Certification) from accredited source (e.g. American Health Information Management Association, American Academy of Professional Coders or Practice Management Institute) or equivalent certification required.ntntnt1 u2013 2 years coding experience. ntntntMust be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to visit PCPu2019s.ntnnu00a0nPreferred Qualifications:nu00a0nntntExperience with Medicare Advantage diagnosis coding strongly preferred.ntnnu00a0nWe offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include merit increases, paid holidays, Paid Time Off, and incentive bonus programs (unless covered by a collective bargaining agreement), medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability benefits, 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, life insurance, wellness programs and financial education resources, to name a few.nnThe health of our associates and communities is a top priority for Anthem.
