Engineer - Information Technology Integration
Deloitte Services LP includes internal support areas such as Marketing and Communications, Human Resources/Talent, Information Technology, Facilities Management, and Financial Support Services.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for all aspects of systems availability, account provisioning and project provisioning. Will also help in system engineering for applications & systems including, problem-solving, configuration, and implementation efforts for large and / or complex projects with an emphasis in operational excellent and continuous improvement of systems engineering related processes and procedures.
Primary work will be days, with some evenings, nights and weekends. Takes part in on-call support rotation for production servers that require 24 X 7 X 365. Weekend or off hours work expected.
Plans, documents procedures, and coordinate systems software and hardware activities with local and remote team members and customers including team members and customers in India.
Flexibility to work in a dynamic fast paced environment with rapid technology changes and complex customer demands. Willingness to get involved with other open systems technologies such as but not limited to Windows, IIS, SQL Server, SAN, Databases, Shell Scripting, monitoring technologies.
Primary Qualifications:
Demonstrates an understanding of problem solving techniques dealing with systems engineering and support. Ability to implement and support for OS / Hardware / Applications related activities for the project teams in collaboration with other IT organizations within US Information Technology Services. This will include but is not limited to HP blade servers, enclosures, VCEM and Flex10 technologies, VMware 4.1 and VMware View platforms. Ability to follow standards, processes, and procedures within the scope of CTO SLTC teams. Ability to effectively communicate written and verbal to all levels within the organizations as well as communicate directly with customers on new projects and / or issues with production systems. Ability to work after hours On-call is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Due to the scope of the responsibilities, 3 years of relevant technology and working experience is required to ensure tasks are completed without supervision. 3 years of strong experience in a Microsoft Server environment is required to ensure a strong foundation in our customer's environment and ability to document systems engineering efforts. Experience with VMware in both 4.1 and View applications desired. Ability to work and communicate well with others. Ability to work in a team environment. Good customer service skills. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Good organizational and planning skills. Strong time management skills. Ability to work autonomously in day-to-day management of software application databases. Experience with TSM, SAN Management system, or networking is desired. Strong security understanding, especially with Active Directory administration is required and SQL Server is highly preferred. Ability to learn new enterprise applications quickly with little or no formal instruction. Shift work (evenings, nights and weekends) is required. Work with the team to provide accurate estimates for tasks and projects. Be able to deliver on project commitments. Demonstrates an ability to manage multiple project deliverables effectively. Demonstrates the ability to work with peers on project assignments. Demonstrates a working ability to foster a cooperative environment with the entire project team. Education:
Bachelor's Degree in IT related preferred.
