Education/Experience:
Minimum A.S. degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or a related field experience
The clientis developing specialized materials to enable the next generation of batteries. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on battery cell engineer/scientist to execute the build and testing of these cells, as well as experimentation and characterization to further advance the materials.
Responsibilities:
Execute the preparation of materials and construction of coin and pouch cells, in a glove box or dry room.
Maintain detailed record and traceability of material, cell construction, equipment, and procedures.
Perform electrochemical cell testing with automated programs and follow data management best practices.
Process and analyze the resulting data for electrochemical characterization.
Execute post-mortem analyses on cells and materials
Conduct experiments on the preparation of ceramic electrolyte and electrodes materials which may include thermal treatments, etching, and coating of metallic layers and slurries
Package and prepare samples for analyses at vendors, partners, or internally.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Required Skills:
Use of a glove box is required for cell construction
Microsoft office: word, excel, PowerPoint.
Basic understanding of batteries, circuit elements, electrical connections
Use of basic lab equipment such as vacuum pumps, ovens, lab balance, etc. is required.
Strong attention to detail is a must.
Must be able to work independently.
Technically curious, self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision
Strong organization skills
Able to manage multiple priorities at once
Able to work with data and communicate results from data
Desired Skills:
Strong communication skills (verbal, email, presentations)
Experience or training with microscopy (optical, SEM, etc)
Team Player

Minimum B.S. degree in a chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or a related field OR 7 years experience
