ABOUT YOU
You LOVE data - especially figuring out what it really means and what you should do about it. And, you have fun teaching others about it.
You're a seasoned researcher who's interested in all sorts of spheres: from market and competitor analysis to user research to usability testing to data analysis. You're equally comfortable diving into qualitative and quantitative data, and you're good at presenting your findings in a way that's understandable and actionable. But (caveat) you also understand that in fast-moving product teams you need to be pragmatic, so you've got a plan for getting just the right amount of research done at just the right moment.
You have an intensely collaborative nature, so you'll be happy teaching product managers and designers what you know and helping them embed best practices into their projects.
So, what will you actually be doing?
Within your first 30 days:
You'll have made a solid start on designing a plan for how we incorporate research and analysis into every project
You'll have reviewed each of our ongoing projects to understand their current state of research and analysis (warning: not much! You'll have provided ad-hoc advice to product managers and designers
You'll be supported by the head of practice and your peers, with the expectation that you'll get feedback and help whenever you need it.
You'll complete a career development plan with your line manager to understand where you are in your career journey and to set learning and development targets.
You'll participate in weekly design and strategy Community of Practice (CoP) meetings to support your peers.
You'll attend weekly all-hands meetings, and so will have (at least virtually) met everyone at the company and will start to feel comfortable with your place in it.
You'll eat tasty food at a new joiners lunch with the CEO.
Within 90 days:
You'll have written a playbook for how we incorporate research, usability testing, and analytics into every project we do
You may have convinced us to buy new tools to help with research and analysis
You'll have set up a plan to support each project in figuring out what kind of research is needed when -- and begun helping the PMs and designers implement it
You'll have conducted a session at the combined Design & Strategy CoP to introduce concepts, methodology, and tooling
Also...
We're constantly pushing the boundaries of emerging tech, but at the moment we do a lot of web3, metaverse, and data science work. If you didn't come in with much knowledge about any of these spaces (which, by the way, we don't expect) you'll have begun upskilling so you can understand any technical domain specific research requirements.
If you *want* to be client-facing, we're happy for you to present your findings and make cases. Alternatively, we're also happy for you to work exclusively internally.
After 6 months:
It will be clear that your plan is working:
research and analysis is embedded into every project
PMs and Designers understand what to do and how to do it, even if they're still being largely supported by you
each product we build has a tailored set of KPIs that we're actively measuring
You may be asked to participate in industry talks/ conferences.
After 1 year:
Get promoted to Principal, which means taking a thought leadership role within the business
ABOUT US
We're a bit of an anomaly: a startup tech consulting company backed by an established law firm. The 'startup' part means there's a lot of room for employee autonomy and opportunity to help design the company, whereas the 'law firm' part is why we have nice benefits, pretty conference rooms, and a runway to succeed.
We specialise in emerging tech, and we're on a pretty hefty mission to change the face of consultancy, putting meaning behind digital transformation by delivering experiences for customers that create value and impact. That also means our culture really cares about people, not just profit, and definitely not just utilisation.
Our law firm origins allow us to combine leading business, tech, and legal expertise. That tends to look like building software that's legally complex… but we go for the interesting stuff, which is why we often end up in Web3, Metaverse, or Data Science worlds.
We work with a variety of sizes of organisations, from funded startups to large companies to government agencies, but always try to deliver value in an agile manner.
Working Conditions
Our working conditions are hybrid, with flexible hours. We have a great office just outside the Holborn tube station that we ask you to come into at least once per week. We also ask that you come in for team days several times a month, away days twice a year, and whenever we run in-person client workshops.
Although we're in a 'hold on we're blasting off' phase of growth, we don't ask our people to work taxing hours unless a project is in absolute crunch time.
