This Data Consultant 1 position with Prevailing Wage Program supports many aspects of the Prevailing Wage Program, such as working with the established information systems, intents and affidavits (PWIA), website, prevailing wage update, and wage and hour survey. Supports internal and external customers of the PWIA, PWU and WHS systems and collaborates in the development of new systems.
This position assists the Prevailing Wage Economic Analyst in the wage and hour survey, the wage update survey, and alternate methods that are conducted to determine and update prevailing wage rates. After the prevailing wage rates are determined, this position updates the PWIA system and Prevailing Wage website.
This position supports the Prevailing Wage Economic Analyst and Prevailing Wage Program Manager by collecting, reviewing and classifying information to evaluate and determine plans for surveys and policy decisions.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telework is temporarily expected for most positions, including this one. The vaccine mandate applies to all employees regardless of teleworking status.
As L&I begins to allow for staff re-entry into the workforce, the incumbent of this position may be expected to report to an L&I facility or field office (duty station) for work activities. At that time, discussions about this position may be eligible for continued telework in accordance with L&I’s telework policy. Telework is dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval. Duties:
Some of what you’ll do:
PWIA Administrator – coordinates and assists in customer support and troubleshoots problems for the online filing system. Maintain the status of and assist internal and external users in finding the problem that is keep them from accessing the system Perform/implement extensive testing of the system for multiple upgrades and quick fixes Maintain a complex database system with many lists, reports, error prompts, and cross references that require advanced knowledge of online filing systems Provide instructions to form processors to use new capabilities when the system is upgraded. Checks for completeness and accuracy before and after calculating the new prevailing wage rates. Semiannual Wage Update Survey – assists the Prevailing Wage Economic Analyst in conducting the wage update surveys. Prevailing Wage Central Office – in coordination with the CSS2 Supervisor, and under the supervision of the Prevailing Wage Economic Analyst, monitors all facets of intent and affidavit online processing to ensure timely and accurate processing. Prevailing Wage Website – coordinates with the FPLS Webmaster to provide content updates to Prevailing Wage web pages. And much more!
Qualifications:
REQUIRED:
High school graduation or G.E.D.
AND
Three years of business, government, or military clerical experience, of which one year must be at the Office Assistant 3 level or equivalent.
DESIRED:
Knowledge of statistical theory and techniques, punctuation, and vocabulary. Ability to interpret data, make arithmetic computations quickly and accurately. Ability to write clearly and concisely, follow oral and written instructions. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
