We are seeking a Data Center Migration Consultant
for our Professional Services team. In this role you will focus on delivering projects in the field of platform technologies, including data center rationalization, relocations, physical & logical migration, server, storage, virtualization, and/or database technologies
Qualified candidates must possess strong Project Management skills in data center operational technologies ranging from technical skills such as operating systems and server/storage hardware to business effectiveness skills such as establishing total cost of ownership (TCO) models for data centers. This requires strong client facing communication, presentation skills, and consulting experience with all levels of IT and operational management up to and including C-Level personnel.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in a technology or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of work experience or working knowledge of administrative and/or architecture skills in one or more of the following areas of IT Infrastructure:
-- Data Center rationalization, consolidation, relocation, migration, or virtualization projects
-- Network technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, Load Balancing, etc.)
-- Storage technologies (EMC / NetApp / IBM / Sun / HP / Dell)
-- Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, LPARs, VPARs, Logical Domains, Zones, etc.)
-- Server technologies (Windows, UNIX, Linux, and/or Solaris)
-- Database technologies (Oracle, Sybase, DB2, etc.)
Preferred Skills:
* Strong experience planning and executing data center relocations, consolidations, and migrations.
* Strong Project/Program Management skills
* Experience with data center design and implementation
* Must possess the ability to perform infrastructure discovery and analysis and provide technology solutions based on analysis of data.
* Must possess a holistic understanding of full data center operation activities including: Production/Development/QA/Staging operations, Server, Storage, Network, Database, System Management, Helpdesk, PMO, BC/DR, etc.
* Ability to think and work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
This position requires heavy travel, but home base could be located in any hub city.
