Psychologist- Behavioral Health Consultant ','221617','VM Kirkland - Psychiatry','Washington-Kirkland','Days','40 hours per week','40 hours per week','.80-1.00 FTE (Flexible)','.80-1.00 FTE (Flexible)','M-F','M-F','','','!*!The Behavioral Health Department has been on an evolving journey from a siloed outpatient specialty model towards one that is coordinated with Primary Care and other specialties. The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in this model collaborates with our psychiatrists and the primary care team, providing goal-oriented treatments through short-term individual therapy sessions as well as specialized therapy groups. BHCs also have the opportunity to develop educational materials and programs for providers or to propose additional ideas for expanding our department’s collaborative services. Our department’s team of BHCs and psychiatrists regularly meets for case discussion, provider support, and ongoing development of our collaborative care model.

The ideal candidate will be focused on providing evidence-based interventions, patient goal-setting, time-limited therapy techniques, and working closely with other providers and staff to coordinate care.

We offer compensation that incentivizes quality over productivity. We do have flexibility to consider a condensed number of work days per week.

PsyD or PhD in Psychology from an accredited university.
At least three years of clinical experience.
Working knowledge of major psychiatric disorders and treatment interventions; DSMV
Ability to conduct evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions (e.g. cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy).
Ability to manage, hold and tolerate a wide range of affect; and a working knowledge of community resources.
Ability to perform pre-surgical evaluations (bariatric, transplant etc.)
Ability to work closely with other providers and staff (MD/PA/ARNP, pharmacist, nursing, medical assistants, social work) and an understanding of the framework of integrated, collaborative care.
Ability to utilize electronic medical records system
Must excel in a team based environment with a positive attitude; be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to be flexible.
Ability to learn new processes and participate in process improvement.
