What You'll Do
WHAT WE NEED
BCG is looking for a Project Leader or Principal
consultant to help our Biopharma Commercial clients take on their most difficult challenges and create innovative strategies for growth. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, curious, and confident, with a penchant for going above and beyond immediate project requirements to find deep insights others have missed. A genuine passion for problem-solving, combined with leadership and communication skills will be critical to success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Biopharma Commercial consultants partner with clients to transform their industries, define winning strategies, shape their value proposition and go-to-market approach, enhance their operational competitiveness, and create sustained advantage. In particular, the industry is undergoing rapid transformation when it comes to customer engagement in increasingly virtual settings.
Project Leaders
play a key role on client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data. Project Leaders oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and the advanced financial analysis of client, competitor, and industry data. They apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Project Leaders are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships.
As the senior person most frequently at the client site, Principals
interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets.
What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
2-4 years post-graduate school consulting experience, or 3-5 years of line management in health care and consulting experience focused in Biopharma Commercial topics
Ability to work across two or more Biopharma Commercial topics including marketing, customer engagement and go-to-market, brand and portfolio strategy, operating model, value access and pricing, or medical affairs
Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.
Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management at Health Care clients. Coupled with expert communication and presentation skills. Project Leaders and Principals must synthesize their team's work into recommendations for presentation to clients, and deliver oral and written reports to client management.
Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide thought leadership to teams, fully owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements.
A combination of managing teams and hands on delivery experience is critical. Principals supervise junior consultants as engagements are executed, but must be prepared to roll up their sleeves and get directly involved as well. Excellent multi-tasking skills. Must be able to track multiple deliverables and priorities, and seamlessly shift gears to address new developments and issues as they emerge.
