General Summary
This role will contribute to the creation of best-in-class career leadership development. Responsible for the design and implementation of learning and development processes for leaders and employees at UM Capital. Assists in the development and implementation of leader and employee training programs including on-line, classroom based, and blended techniques. Under limited supervision delivers organization development services including culture change, team effectiveness, and leader coaching.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Supports the implementation of the OD strategy in support of the University of Maryland Medical System and Human Resource Services strategies.
This position will reside full-time on-site and provide services at UM Capital. As appropriate and approved by the System Director, Organization Development, they may assist multiple hospitals across a geographic region within the University of Maryland Medical System.
Has a knowledge of best practices and current industry trends to take advantage of cutting-edge and innovative ideas.
Effectively manages projects based on a functional knowledge of project management skills and techniques.
Using critical thinking and effective problem solving skills, solves a range of hospital challenges related to organization development and learning.
ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT
Consults with Executives, Directors, Managers and Supervisors at UM Capital or other assigned Local Hospitals within a geographic region. May have limited travels to other UMMS hospitals as necessary to provide service delivery.
Utilizes a consulting process that includes discovery (identifying the problem and determining performance gaps), developing and agreeing on services to solve the problem (contracting), delivering the services (delivery), and evaluating the overall project and outcome (evaluation).
Working independently, implements system-wide OD services including: strategic and operational planning; change management; organizational culture and values; talent review and succession planning; performance management, leadership development and coaching; group effectiveness; and surveys and analytics.
Supports innovation and organizational change to improve OD effectiveness.
Establishes structures and processes to plan and manage the orderly implementation of change.
ORGANIZATIONAL LEARNING
Supports system-wide learning initiatives including: needs assessments; management and employee development; orientation and annual training; learning design, delivery and evaluation; and trainer development.
Develops and implements curricula and learning paths for management and employee development.
Uses innovative methods to facilitate learning.
Facilitates leadership development sessions associated with the UMMS Healthcare Leadership Institute.
Implements, analyzes, and reports on a periodic learning needs assessment in support of management and employee development.
Is creative and uses effective problem solving techniques that lead to the development and implementation of new approaches and methods at every opportunity.
Fosters an environment of continuous improvement, best practices, lessons learned, and quality outcomes.
Actively seeks knowledge.
Demonstrates flexibility in response to competing demands, shifting priorities and organizational constraints
Oversees employee recognition program.
EVALUATES OD AND LEARNING PROGRAMS
Utilizes Level 1, 2 and 3 evaluation strategies to measure reaction, cognitive learning, and on the job learning in identified programs.
Reports compliance and evaluation outcomes to management and others as appropriate.
Measures and reports the impact of programs on organizational goals.
Uses evaluation data on an on-going basis to revise and continuously improve programs
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Organization Development, Human Resource Development, I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or commensurate field required.
A minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in organization development or organizational learning.
Demonstrated experience as an organization development and learning consultant (internal or external) preferred.
Demonstrated success delivering complex projects.
Experience with CPP instruments (MBTI, FIRO-B), Emergenetics and 360 assessment surveys preferred.
Hospital industry experience preferred.
