Strategic Advisor - Employee Assistance Program (6 month contract)
Who You'll Work With
Mind Matters is McKinsey & Company's internal mental health program aimed to advance the conversation on mental health and provide support for colleagues where and when they need it. Mind Matters provides access to high quality early intervention support and clinical resources and an environment free from stigma and taboo.
You will work directly with the global leadership of Mind Matters as well as an extensive set of McKinsey & Company stakeholders including procurement, legal and finance teams. On a daily basis, you will collaborate with a team based in the US east coast, but you can work remotely from any location. This is a 6 month contract for 20 hours a week.
What You'll Do
You will provide strategic advisory and direct support in evaluating global employee assistance program (EAP) offerings as well as support senior leadership with strategic projects in the mental health at work space.
In this role, you will support the team in designing and pressure testing the team's outlined requirements for a comprehensive and global EAP program. You will also provide input on the EAP marketplace and each provider's relative strengths. You will join introductory sessions with EAP providers to share McKinsey's requirements and assess potential fit.
You will also provide support to the team preparing a global RFP (e.g., leveraging your expertise to write questions for EAP providers, supporting the team with clearly communicating detailed requirements to EAP providers). You will help the team in launching the RFP process (e.g., leveraging your expertise to review content of RFP communications, reviewing draft answers to vendor questions about RFP process). You will help the team assess and evaluate initial bids (by leveraging your expertise to ask clinical questions during discussions with vendors, assessing vender responses, analyzing qualitative and quantitative bid components with a clinical lens) as well as help them with the due diligence process (e.g., by evaluating the depth and breadth of EAP services and data to ensure services meet needs). You will also advise the team in evaluating final offers and support final contract negotiations to ensure must have needs are met and terms are properly defined.
You will also act as a thought partner and provide expertise on strategic projects that the team is driving to advance the firm's mental health efforts. Other projects that you may provide your expertise on include redefining protocols for emergency situations, defining the approach for tracking incoming cases, supporting global offices in identifying and setting up local therapeutic services.
Qualifications
10 years of clinical experience as a psychologist or related practice specialty with professional licensing and degree in the field
Extensive professional experience in the employee benefits space in a corporate setting and managing employee benefits at scale
Professional experience as a senior program manager or an executive of an employee assistance program (EAP)
Experience designing and evaluating EAP program performance standards and ability to analyze and interpret relevant EAP data
Extensive professional international experience navigating global contexts and tailoring solutions to cultural contexts
Ability to be a thought partner and pressure test proposed solutions, evaluating, prioritizing and weighting different levels of criticality
Ability to maintain the highest professional, ethical and confidentiality standards; ability to handle extremely sensitive issues with ease
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate messages to senior executives
